For this weekend’s Coachella kickoff, Selena Gomez stunned fans at the music festival in Palm Springs, California, with a surprise appearance. The singer performed “Taki Taki” alongside Cardi B, DJ Snake, and Ozuna. For her turn on the stage, Gomez looked beyond the typical festival fashion wardrobe which tends to include sequins, neons, or Western-inspired motifs. Instead, she busted out a pristine all-white outfit that was heavy on the ruffles and lace, what you might call anti-Coachella style.
In an Instagram posted by her hairstylist Marissa Marino, Gomez’s ensemble was on full view. It included a white double-breasted blazer and trousers; underneath, she wore a long, Victorian-style white lace top, its ruffled hem peeking out the bottom of her sleeves.
The combination of Versace and Ralph Lauren pieces struck just the right note: tasteful tailoring with a touch of kitsch. She then committed to the monochromatic look with a pair of sleek, pointy white boots. Meanwhile, piles of gold necklaces and rings gave her that glam, stage-ready vibe. This is Coachella, after all: one needs a little bling.
